A region full of riches to visit

In Montpellier, you will stroll, according to your tastes, in the streets of the center with its mansions, heritage of a rich commercial past, or on the promenade du Peyrou, on the Place de la Comédie and in front of its theater, at the Fabre museum, at the Jardin des Plantes, or at the zoo; unless the futuristic Montpellier fascinates you with its new districts: Antigone, Odysséum, the Planetarium,… Montpellier is also a big city of congresses; many cultural events and music festivals take place there.

At the gates of the Hérault gorges, you will be surprised by St Guilhem-le-Désert, picturesque village, with its Cistercian abbey and its way to Saint-Jacques de Compostelle which sinks into the hills. On this road, you will pass in Saint Jean-de-Fos, a village with many talented potters.
In the middle of volcanic land is Lake Salagou.

Valmagne
This former Cistercian abbey in Hérault has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1947.

Come and discover the history of this former Cistercian abbey as well as the history of the family which has maintained it for nine generations!

We will reveal the "cathedral of vines" and its 83m long and 24.5m high as well as the cloister and its gardens with Florentine charm. You can admire the chapter house with its basket handle vault as well as the fountain, one of the few preserved in a Cistercian abbey.

You can also take a stroll in the Simples garden and visit the grape variety conservatory before tasting the organic wines from this Languedoc Roussillon wine estate.

Finally, enjoy a rustic meal at the winegrower restaurant inn where the dishes are based on organic products from the vegetable garden!


Ballaruc-les-Bains Antique Garden
Magnified by the richness of its points of view, this visit is an invitation to a journey marked by times of contemplation and rest.Between flowered paths and wooded areas, the route reveals the evolution and diversity of gardens from antiquity, the richness of ornamental compositions and landscape atmospheres. Designed according to the different archetypes of Antiquity, this garden is dedicated to the knowledge of Mediterranean plant essences and their uses through seven original creations. Along a path, they discover agriculture and horticulture, the sacred, medicine, magic, cooking or cosmetics. Guided tour every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. (only on reservation) Animals accepted: less than 10 kg carried in the arms.
